Projects may want to handle check-pointing within their own application and skip the disk intensive requirements of a VM snapshot.

MGR: Updates to Simple Preferences dialog: restore reference to Advanced Prefs dialog; fix controls to appear properly over a background image.  The warning icon does not yet appear correctly over a background image.

LOCALE: Use a separate flag file.  If you clone a new repo, both the po and mo files will have the same date/time stamp.

LOCALE: Unify the text used in the simple preferences dialog with the text used in the advanced preferences dialog.
